Traveling is one of the most incredible parts of life — trying delicious new foods, seeing new places, and experiencing new cultures. However travel can be tough on the body. Changes in time zones, extra indulgences and alcohol, disrupted sleep… It’s easy to feel off-balance and sluggish when you’re out of routine.
Over the years, I’ve developed a few simple, nourishing habits that help me stay grounded and energized while I travel. These tips are designed to care for your gut health, nurture your skin, and bring calm to your mind – because I truly believe wellness should feel supportive and sustainable, even on the move.

My Tips for Healthy Travel
Stay Hydrated: This has to be my number one tip. I simply can’t express how important it is to stay hydrated when you’re travelling — your digestion and skin will thank you! I carry a stainless steel water bottle and love to add electrolytes and Vitality X + Collagen. I notice I feel so clear and energized when I land!
Be Prepared with Snacks: While trying new foods is such a special part of travelling, I like to carry some good-quality snacks with me for the moments I might be stuck on fresh options (like the airport). My go-to’s are dates, an apple, natural popcorn, or nuts. I also aim to eat a balanced meal of quality protein, fiber, and healthful fats before boarding a long-haul flight to keep me nourished and satiated.
Drink Herbal Tea: I always bring tea bags along and ask the flight attendant for some boiling water. Ginger is a wonderful choice to aid digestion while also boosting the immune system. Chamomile tea before bed can also be such a soothing option to calm the mind in new environments.
Targeted Support: I absolutely recommend supplementing under the guidance of a health practitioner. The vitamins I take everywhere with me in my Pill Organizer are:
- Advanced Magnesium+: Three forms of magnesium at a specific dose to support rest and recovery after long flights, or active days on the go.
- Deep Sleep+: With targeted herbs and nutrients, the ideal, non-drowsy support for resetting your sleep routine across time zones!
- Detox + Debloat: This is confidence in a bottle. I travel everywhere with it, knowing it will restore comfort from long-haul flights or perhaps heavier meals.
- Immune+: My extra support to stay healthy while exposed to new environments and climates.
Try Aromatherapy: I love to dab a bit of lavender oil on my temples whenever I’m in transit. Lavender essential oil has a calming scent, which makes it an excellent tonic for the nerves. You can also sprinkle a few drops on your pillowcase once you arrive.
Make Time for Breathwork: Breathing with your diaphragm signals to your brain that everything is okay. When travel is chaotic, I love to practice Joe Dispenza’s breathwork on the plane, and before sleep to signal a sense of calm for my nervous system.
Pack Smart: When it comes to packing products, I always like to travel light and minimally. The JSHealth Vitamins 4-Step Skincare System is designed to nourish, cleanse and moisturize for around-the-clock care. Be sure to also wear a quality zinc-based SPF (30 or higher!) to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays.
Fiber Focus: Our digestion can come under additional stress while traveling thanks to all the different foods! Where possible, I opt for fiber-rich snacks such as fresh fruits, nuts, and seeds plus fermented foods like sauerkraut/kimchi to keep my digestion regular.
Prioritize Sleep: Travelling often causes routine to go out the window, in the best way! For the plane, I always pack a silk eye mask and blue light blocking glasses to support my circadian rhythm. Once landed, I strive to stick to my regular nighttime routine as much as possible, as quality sleep allows the gut to rest and repair.
Relax and Unwind: No matter how busy your travel schedule may be, it’s critical to make time for yourself and take moments of stillness and gratitude. This could involve taking a warm shower or bath in the evening, a mindful walk with no phone, journalling or even a quick gua sha session.
